Artificial Intelligence was recently considered an option for cybersecurity, thwarting data breaches and fraud attempts, but now it is not just an option, but a necessity. Prior to AI, prevention systems would depend on sets of rules to analyse transactions which relied heavily on historical data. AI can be used to continually scan for potential threat transactions and decrease the response time when defending against attempted breaches.
Statistically, breach attempts are increasing as digital businesses grow, making cybersecurity a top priority. Capgemini Research Institute surveyed 850 senior executives across seven industries and have compiled a report that has results showing the majority of enterprises, say they cannot detect breach attempts today, without the use of AI technologies. Louis Columbus, a contributor for Forbes, explains the findings from this report.
